GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
884 Miles Down, Only 16 Left to Go!

This is a photo of Marti Smith and her hiking friend Liz after a (mere) 23 mile hike last week.

Marti, intrepid GSMA manager of our two Gatlinburg stores, has now hiked 884 miles of the 900 miles of trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. (Whew!)

That means there are only 16 miles left to be pounded out.

Marti hopes to get those last pesky miles done next spring. Because she has to work pretty hard, because she has to go on Clingmans Dome Road to get to those last trails, and because Clingmans Dome Road closes on December 1st of this year and stays closed until April 1st of 2008, she reckons she’ll have to wait to reach her goal!
