This is a picture taken by Ann Froschauer of a bear being careful not to fall into the water as he hops on rocks. Ann spotted the bear while hiking with Missy Kane and the Friends of the Smokies on Old Sugarlands Trail.

Me too! This was my 2nd visit -still no bear sighting – -maybe next time!!
Saw one single big bear climbing up side of mountain, the other mama and baby near the Wye, outside of Townsend. They sure are enjoyable to see. The above one wouldn’t have been rock hoping this past Nov in that area, more water then rocks where seen. That bear would have been swimming for sure.
