Cades Cove Reopens!

 

Saturday, April 24 was the official reopening ceremony for Cades Cove! Visitors came out to walk, run, hike, and, of course, bike the 11-mile freshly paved road that is the most-visited place in the park. Click here to see what they had to say about it!

July Record Low Temperature on Le Conte

 

Wednesday morning brought 33 degree temperatures to Mt. Le Conte–a record for July. Click here or on the photo to see some hikers who made it back down from a chilly night on Mt. Le Conte and some who were taking advantage of the excellent daytime weather.

After Nine Years… Success!

Marti Smith, the manager of our stores at the Gatlinburg Welcome Center and the Parkway Welcome Center, is a very dedicated hiker.  This past Saturday, she finished hiking every single one of the 150 trails in the national park.  It took nine years, but she did it!
