			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Courtesy of Ann Froschauer, here are some great photos of the fisheries rangers at work and some beautiful Brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis), the only trout native to the Smokies.</p>
<p>The NPS and Trout Unlimited have been successfully restoring native Brook trout populations in the park (and removing non-native Rainbow trout).</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a close up of a brook trout.  He was put back into the water immediately after having his mug shot taken.</p>
