Winter Rains

In 2011, the Great Smoky Mountains recieved close to 100 inches of rainfall making it one of the rainiest spots in the entire United States. It was also one of the wettest years on record.

The White-tailed Deer Rut in Cades Cove

December in Cades Cove presents a great opportunity to view wildlife, and especially the White-tailed Deer rut. Throughout the meadows and forest of the cove, Bucks can be seen fighting for territorial dominance and chasing Does during the height of the mating season.

Smoky Mountain Old-Time Music
