Could anyone tell me about the horse trails in the Cataloochee area? I was lucky enough to recently purchase a couple of acres very close to the Cataloochee Divide Trail and hope to ride it often in the future (as well as the Cataloochee Valley). I presently live in NW FL and will not be able to move to NC for a few years, but just knowing that my mountain lot awaits me is a dream come true! I am very curious to know how difficult these trails will be to ride since I come from a flat, sandy part of the country. Are the ridges and valleys easier to ride than the trips up and down? On a recent visit to Waynesville, I rode at the Cataloochee Ranch and traveled up to Hemphill Bald and back down again. I am hoping that the ridges and valleys will be easier to ride.
