Hi All, We are planning our first GSMNP trip in mid-May with 9 kids ages 14-1.
We will carry the younger ones but we were wondering which campground would be the best for us in terms of easily accessible hikes (i.e. don't have to drive a long time to get to trail head). We are looking at Big Creek and Cosby campgrounds because they tend to be quieter and not crowded which is what we want but don't know the hiking situation there. Any help and or advice would be great.
Thanks!

Recommended Quieter Hike for Kids

Cosby would be my choice. Lots and lots of hikes, especially if you include the Greenbrier area and Albright Grove, just a few miles down Hwy 321. The kids will love Henwallow Falls and the Cosby Nature Trail!
